Premium car manufacturer Genesis is considering launching a GT-class electric flagship based on one of its three X Concepts introduced back in 2021 and 2022.
The corresponding statement was made by Mark Choi, Genesis Product Manager. He did not specify which of the design studies was being considered for production.
The original Genesis X Concept hit the spotlight two years ago. Designed by Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke himself, it was promoted as a battery-electric vehicle despite having typical Grand Tourer proportions, including a massive front end where one would expect to see a large-displacement internal combustion engine.
The Genesis X Speedium Coupe followed it last year bringing along a more EV-centric design (for example, it had a solid panel instead of the radiator grille). It also had a different profile view with a longer top and no bulging trunk lid.
Finally, the Genesis X Convertible was revealed in November 2022. It had the same overall design as the coupe except for the droptop.
According to Mark Choi, one of these three concepts is currently being considered for production. Before any further details can be revealed, the project would first need to be assessed for financial viability.
