According to a number of South Korean car newspapers, the refreshed Genesis G70 will be debuting with the same engine lineup as before, except for minor revisions.
The old 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 will stay at the top of the line. It will gain a valve-adjusted exhaust system that will add a symbolic 3hp to its total power (up to 373 hp / 278 kW). The 2.2-liter diesel engine will carry over unchanged.
It had been reported earlier that the new G70 would be receiving several engines from its senior cousin, the G80. In particular, the 2.5-liter turbo-four and the 3.5-liter V6 were named as the likeliest candidates, rated at 304 and 380 hp (227 and 283 kW, respectively). Looks like those rumors were no more than just that – rumors.
