Hyundai has recently founded a separate sub-brand called Ioniq for at least three of its upcoming electric cars – but it will also be making those under Genesis branding. This camouflaged Genesis G80 test mule spied not far from the Nürburgring looks just like an electric version.
If you look at the photos, you will see that the car, while otherwise identical to its gas-powered counterpart, is lacking exhaust pipes and the radiator grille, which is replaced with a decorative stub. The body kit is also slightly different.
The alleged Genesis eG80 will probably be based on the same chassis as its ICE siblings. It will also strive to have at least 500 kilometers (310 miles) of driving range. Other than that, however, little is known about its powertrain and battery size.
The car should premiere next year followed by an electric SUV based on the same tech.
