Genesis announces a new e-crossover for Q3 2025

Automaker Genesis has attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed last week with a quartet of concept cars from its Magma lineup. As it now turns out, one of them – a souped-up GV60 SUV – is scheduled to reach production in the third quarter of the next year.

All vehicles in the Magma series get engine upgrades compared to their standard counterparts, but Genesis stresses that it will prioritize other key aspects. Since most sports cars today are primarily about handling, not raw performance, the automaker plans to redesign the chassis of each Magma model to suit it best. This will include expanding the track and lowering the ride height.

In addition to this, all Magma cars will get a new infotainment UI with the option to remove everything not needed for the track from the screen. By focusing the driver’s attention on just the main numbers, the driving experience can become more immersive and involved, Genesis argues.

Last but not least, all vehicles in the special series will sport a recognizable new look and expensive trimming materials in the cabin. The electric ones will have artificial engine sound options.

The Genesis GV60 Magma will be the first to arrive, and the company says it will look almost the same as the Goodwood prototype. The production is slated for Q3 2025, but customers in Europe will have to wait another few months for the deliveries to begin.
