Genesis spied testing its second e-SUV

Genesis seems to have taken its lineup electrification plans seriously this year: shortly after flashing its compact-sized GV60e SUV on the streets, it registered as many as six EV model names and took a mid-size SUV named GV70e out for tests as well.

The latest soft-roader was tracked down to an iced-over lake in Sweden. Despite the thick camo, you can basically say it looks like its gas-powered sibling, the GV70 (watch the video for a comparison). Redesigned radiator grille and c-pillars are perhaps its two main differences from the original as far as the exterior is concerned.

Size-wise, the EV will lie close to the 4,715 mm (15.47 ft.) of the regular GV70. It will be based on the E-GMP platform of the latest Genesis, Hyundai and Kia battery cars. The premiere date is not available yet, but we expect it to be later this year.
