Two weeks after revealing a design study named X Coupe, Genesis has now announced another car it will be unveiling at the 2021 Auto Shanghai show starting on April 19.
All evidence seems to point towards an all-electric version of the GV70 SUV featured in the video here. Note that the only teaser image available so far reveals two-piece headlights and a stub in place of the radiator grille.
Test vehicles of what we expect is a battery SUV called GV70e have been sighted on public roads before. Rumors had claimed that the car would only debut in December, months after the GV60 model based on the e-GMP platform.
Having said that, the teaser pic hardly depicts a GV60: that one pursues a design direction that envisions no radiator grille whatsoever, not even a stylized fake. Its technical siblings – the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 – let us assume that the car could be the marque’s smallest crossover SUV with an unusually long wheelbase exceeding that of the GV70 or even the GV80.
Next in line for a debut is the sedan-shaped G80e. Patents also exist for such trademarks as G70e, G90e, GV80e, and GV90e, but Genesis stays silent about these.
