Genesis has released the first official images of its upcoming GV80 SUV on January 1, 2020. If you slept over that date, have a look at it in our gallery now.
Overall, the car looks just like its concept version from 2017, the only visible differences being those making it conveyor-friendly. The fancy side cameras are no more, the door handles now look far more mundane than on the prototype, and the pillars are not as ornamental as before. In addition, some revisions have been made to the headlights, bumpers and radiator grille.
Inside, the enormous infotainment display dominates the middle of the dash, accompanied by digital instruments, a dual-spoke steering wheel and a gear selector knob. The seats aren’t shown in detail, but Genesis says the GV80 will ship with two- and three-seat row versions to choose between.
From the technical point of view, the SUV is similar to the still unreleased second-gen G80 sedan/saloon. It comes with the drive on the rear axle by default, but the more expensive trims offer AWD.
The Genesis GV80 will be revealed in detail later this month. Sales in South Korea will start straight after the presentation.
