Genesis launches GV80 patrol car series in Dubai

The Dubai police can now take advantage of a whole fleet of well-equipped Genesis GV80 SUVs to patrol the streets and enforce the law in the Emirate.

The law enforcement division of the UAE capital already employs quite a few exotic vehicles, highlights including the Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari FF. The South Korean automaker’s first crossover SUV now joins the list as well.

The company does not reveal what exact specification of the car it is, but we’d expect the top trim packing a 3.5-liter internal combustion engine and 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW).

A while ago, the Dubai police purchased a batch of eight-wheeled Shaman off-roaders capable of transporting 12 people each. It also showed interest in the Tesla pickup truck, which it could use for patrolling the downtown Abu-Dhabi.
