Genesis GV80 spotted running around with new headlights and grille

The GV80 debuted as the first SUV from Genesis in 2021. Now, the automaker is getting ready to expand the lineup with a new coupe-like version destined to compete with the likes of the BMW X6. In the meantime, the regular GV80 SUV has been spied in mid-refresh.

The video below provides a rather detailed look at the camouflaged prototype, and it is easy to see that it is not the GV80 Coupe announced earlier. Sure, it wears a misleading wrap and fake panels to conceal its true outlines, but the slanted roof is simply not there. There is also a normal tailgate at the rear end, which looks boxy and not coupe-like in the slightest.

All of this probably means that we will be getting a 2024 facelift of the standard GV80 soon. Most of the visual updates will take place at the front and rear ends and touch upon the lights, the bumpers and the radiator grille.

The current GV80 is obtainable in the United States with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter V6. The model in the video, however, is a diesel spec not available in the USA. We do not expect the facelift to bring any changes to the engine lineup.
