The organizers behind the Geneva show believe it would make more sense to focus efforts on hosting an auto show in Doha, Qatar Republic next year, so there will be no GIMS-2023 in late February.
Maurice Turrettini, President of the GIMS Foundation, said several factors led to this decision, most notable of which are Covid-19 cases being on the rise once again and the global economical and geopolitical situation remaining uncertain.
The original plan was to hold the show in two stages, starting in Geneva, Switzerland in February 2023 and moving to the capital city of Doha, Qatar the following month. Now, automakers will only have one event in one country to prepare for. Having said that, the dates haven’t even been decided upon yet.
