Gordon Murray Automotive, the company founded by and named after the developer of the legendary McLaren F1, said it needed barely more than a week to sell its entire planned production series of the GMA T.33 sports car.
The T.33 is a more affordable alternative to the T.50 model that debuted a while ago. While the older model comes in at an eye-watering £2.36 million, the newer one cuts some corners to cost ‘only’ £1.37 million.
Like the T.50, the T.33 will be released in 100 units total. The production remains scheduled for late 2023–early 2024, and the company says it has received advance payments for the whole batch.
The mid-engined car features a carbon fiber monocoque construction with dual-wishbone suspension, like the T.50, but lacks the latter’s three-seat interior layout and aerodynamic rear fan producing extra downforce. Some consider these features to be defining on the T.50.
The 3.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 has also changed slightly: it has a red line at 10,500 RPM instead of 12,100 and churns out 615 PS (607 hp / 452 kW) instead of 663 PS (654 hp / 488 kW).
