Many car companies, including BMW, Kia and Nissan, have already previewed their Superbowl commercials for this year, and GM joins the game now with a suitably weird ad featuring Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movie franchise.
We are at a loss as to the meaning of it, but GM has been known for its ambiguous teasers before. Mike Myers, who played all the primary roles in Austin Powers movies, can be seen sitting in an armchair chuckling in a sinister way.
The video caption on YouTube says ‘Dr. EV-il Is Back For Good’ – note especially the capitalization of EV. The teaser sets a reveal date: February 13th. The final match of the Superbowl is scheduled for that date.
