The dream of riding taxis sans drivers has become reality in yet another city, San Francisco. The local authorities have greenlit the use of fully autonomous vehicle by General Motors subsidiary Cruise.
This means the city will soon see 30 Chevrolet Bolt taxis upgraded with self-driving equipment, not even a full year after Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt let the first prototype car take him for a ride.
General Motors is now calling upon all San Francisco residents to register on the Cruise website to be able to hail a driverless cab and contribute to the development of the autonomous taxi tech.
