Old GMC Motorhome gets a second life after junkyard

In addition to light passenger cars, General Motors produces a wide variety of specialized transports. In the early 1970s, the company introduced the Motorhome – a six-wheeled, FWD van for outdoor leisure enthusiasts.

The example you see here was eventually sent to the scrap yard where it stood for years, accumulating rust, until its current owners stumbled upon it by chance. The family couple reasoned they could afford to have it fully restored and contracted Creative Mobile Interiors for the job. The project came in at a cool $500,000.

The Motorhome was brought to life in full, including the engine, the transmission, the chassis, the body and the cabin. It reportedly feels like new and houses a plumbing system, a power generator, heated floors, air conditioning, assorted ambient lighting and even a wine bar.
