The Toyo booth at this year’s SEMA show featured quite a few intriguing tuning projects, including this 60-year-old General Motors truck restored to peak condition. Let’s have a closer look.
Hive Garage carried out the restoration, painting the exterior in a period-correct shade turquoise with the cab top offset in white. All the patina and artificial rust you can see is just there for show, and what little chrome the old-timer still wears shines like new.
The suspension is air-cushioned all around and dropped as low as it would go. The wheels used are known as Vossen ML-R1 (see video). We were unable to find the exact diameter mentioned, but the vendor lists options from 19 to 24 inches large starting from a cool $1,900 for the smallest wheel.
The bed was repurposed for transporting two electric dirt bikes – with the suspension set up like this, the company admits transporting heavy cargo in the bed is no longer an option, anyway. On the other hand, the project’s main purpose is to draw everyone’s attention, which it manages exceptionally well.
