GMC is getting ready to launch a particularly off-road-capable version of its Canyon truck this summer. It is called the AT4X, and here is its first official teaser.
The image shows the lower half of the pickup with extra protective cladding around the wheel arches and 17-inch off-road wheels. The suspension appears slightly lifted.
In a recently published video discussion of earlier spy photos, the Canyon AT4X also sports a redesigned front bumper optimized for approach angle. We would not be surprised to see it equipped with Multimatic shock absorbers as well, the likes of which GM installs on the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
The powertrain remains a dark horse at this moment. Rumor has it the pickup will be getting a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of 329 PS (324 hp / 242 kW) and 515 Nm (380 lb-ft) of torque.
