General Motors has barely premiered its all-electric Hummer truck, but if you considered grabbing your own copy you will now have to wait until 2022 or later: the entire Edition 1 batch was swept off the metaphorical shelves in less than a day.
Pre-orders were registered for a rather symbolic $100, but customers will be required to pay the remaining $112,500 for the orders to be processed. Actual shipments won’t begin until late 2021.
The topmost trim version features a tri-motor powertrain rated at 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 745 kW) and can sprint 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in three seconds flat. Its massive batteries grant it 563 kilometers (350 miles) of range.
Next in the production queue is the $99,900 Hummer EV 3X. As for the entry-level $79,000 EV 2 spec, it is only slated to arrive in 2024.
