General Motor Company has revealed some of the electric vehicles it will be bringing to the Consumer Electronics Show held online on January 11–14, 2021.
According to the roadmap, GM will have around 30 electric cars on the market by 2025, out of which around 20 will be available in the United States. CEO Mary Barra will personally announce multiple new concepts and production cars united under a single EV architecture, but wearing different badges: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Cruise and GMC are all on the list.
In the meantime, the GMC Hummer EV (see video) continues tests in wintertime Michigan. The first production batch has already been sold out, even though the production at Factory Zero (D-HAM) won’t begin until next fall.
The Barclays Global Automotive Conference last month featured an SUV-shaped GMC Hummer EV, a Chevrolet hybrid truck (Silverado PHEV?), and a mystery SUV.
The rest remains speculative. Chevrolet may attend the CES with its new Bolt EUV, which is related to the Buick Velite 7, an updated Bolt, and electrified variants of other models. Cadillac is expected to showcase a production-ready Lyriq EV, the range-topping Celestiq sedan, and a mysterious full-size off-roader. Buick will likely come bringing its electric SUVs, and the Cruise Origin bus should also be present at the online show.
