Video: GMC Hummer EV hits test track in WTF mode

No vehicle as heavy as the GMC Hummer EV should be this agile, wouldn’t you agree?

The three-motor truck weighs over four metric tons (8,800+ lbs), but, the manufacturer stresses in the latest promotional video, it still boasts enviable acceleration capabilities. According to estimations, it needs around three seconds to go 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h), just like the latest Ford GT.

The footage also focuses on a special mode dubbed Watts to Freedom, or WTF for short. Subtexts aside, note that the video itself is rather choppily edited and ends up with a dirty truck becoming inexplicably clean in the next scene. But even with the obvious heavy editing, the way the rear suspension sags when the driver hits the throttle pedal is genuinely impressive.

The Edition 1 of the Hummer EV will be the first to hit showrooms this fall priced from U.S. $112,595. A more affordable version should arrive next fall priced at $99,995. The base spec should emerge in the spring of 2024 and cost $79,995 and above.
