As many of us remember, the original Hummer off-roader series started with an SUV body style, so why is the revived GMC Hummer EV a pickup truck first and foremost? Let’s hear the official explanation.
According to GMC Hummer EV Lead Exterior Designer John Mack, the pickup turned out a more off-road-capable vehicle out of the two, so it will be the first to hit the showrooms. The five-door SUV will follow at a later date.
In its top specification, the all-electric GMC Hummer truck delivers 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 745 kW) along with up to 15,592 Nm (11,500 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, which roughly corresponds to 1,356 Nm (1,000 lb-ft) at the crank in familiar terms. The SUV version has the same torque, but only 841 PS (830 hp / 618 kW).
