GMC has shared the second photo of its Hummer EV-based camper so far. The car is being co-designed with EarthCruiser (Australia) and has a pop-up roof that you can sleep under. The full reveal remains slated for later this month.
The new pic reveals a rather tall and imposing pop-up top that RV owners usually use as a ‘second floor’ for sleeping. However, there is also a small ramp visible at the rear end – it could be a transformed tailgate, but we will have to wait for the official reveal to learn the details.
Other notable modifications include auxiliary lights and bulges above the rear fenders, likely either housing storage boxes or making room for some kind of large interior equipment.
All technical details remain to be revealed, but we wouldn’t expect the GMC Hummer EV to get any major powertrain modifications. On the other hand, adding weight to the cabin may affect its electric range; it remains to be seen how the manufacturer will address this.
