GMC compares its off-roaders to ‘light passenger cars’ in a new ad video

The new advertisement highlights the cross-country superiority of GMC-branded pickup trucks and SUVs over low-riding urban cars as if it were some kind of novel concept.

The takeaway from the video is that premium light passenger cars are also quite capable of going off-road, but only as long as they wear the mandatory GMC AT4 badge. Also pictured in the footage are lookalikes of the Lamborghini Huracan, Bentley Continental GT, and Genesis G80, which struggle to proceed over challenging terrain until they get completely stuck.

The AT4 team comes next and demolishes the competition. GMC Acadia, Canyon, Sierra HD, Terrain, and Yukon models all have AT4 versions.

If you followed closely, you may have noticed that all three ‘rival’ carmakers actually have their own highly capable off-roaders: Lamborghini has the Urus, Bentley has the Bentayga, and Genesis has the GV80. So, why did GMC pick low-riders to poke fun at? We’ll leave the answer to your discretion.
