Video: Let’s see how a 2020 GMC Sierra HD Denali performs on the dyno

One of the latest videos from Hoonigan shows 2020 GMC Sierra HD Denali truck being tested for power and torque on the dyno machine. The 6.6-liter turbocharged Duramax V8 is no joke, let us tell you.

The pickup featured had been slightly tuned both under the hood and in the suspension department, where Fox shocks replaced the stock dampers. The goal was, simply enough, to see how much better the truck would fare with the power-up.

The manual says the vehicle produces a nominal 445 American horsepower. Only around 380 hp out this amount actually reaches the wheels through the transmission. During the first launch, the Hoonigan team was able to record 467 hp at the wheels. Another launch yielded 478 hp, and the best attempt showed 481 hp. Perhaps more impressively, the torque peaked at a mountain-moving 771 pound-feet (1,045 Nm).
