China-based automotive corporation Great Wall Motors considers establishing a separate brand dedicated exclusively to electrified, all-electric and AI-powered vehicles. The marque is currently known under its provisional name of SL project.
According to a representative of GWM, the new badge will be predominantly worn by sedans and crossover SUVs packing hybrid and fully electric powertrains. These cars will be more upmarket and therefore more expensive than all currently existing Great Wall models.
In an earlier news, the corporation came to the Auto Beijing 2020 show with a sedan prototype named the Futurist Concept (featured in our gallery and both videos). The car notably had 700 kilometers (435 miles) of all-electric range, although the company never specified the measurement method used.
