Great Wall creates Ora, a sub-brand dedicated to electric cars

The Chinese car giant Great Wall has registered a sub-brand named Ora, under which the company plans to release all of its future battery-driven cars. It will officially premiere at the International Automotive Exhibition in Beijing, China in April 2018.

It’s there that the first car of the brand, the Ora iQ5 liftback, will debut as well. Let’s have a closer look at its first official photos.

The car looks like it’s ready to roll off the assembly line. Despite being a more or less typical liftback, it has a pretty high road clearance. Judging by its reported weight of under 1,400 kilograms (~3,100 lbs), it makes use of the most advanced automotive materials.

The new Ora iQ5 is driven by an electric engine with 160 horsepower and can achieve 150 km/h (~93 mph) at most. No other performance data is being disclosed.
