Great Wall launches Wey VV6 into production

Wey, a luxury car brand owned by Great Wall, has begun producing the VV6 crossover series. Unlike all other similar Wey vehicles, the new one has an estate car stature.

The Wey VV6 is based on the same architecture as the Wey VV5 and therefore has the same 2,680 mm (8.79 ft.) of wheelbase. Their lengths differ, though, with the newcomer being 4,625 mm (15.17 ft.) long and the predecessor amounting to only 4,462 (14.64 ft.).

The interior finishing reflects the same design direction as in the VV5, but there are some differences. For one, the dashboard now has an extension in its top part, separated from the main part by an edge. The lower steering wheel spokes are moved apart to the sides, and the gear shifter is not fixed.

Options include a digital instrument panel on a 12.3-inch display, an infotainment system with a 4G modem, Infinity Sound System, all-around view cameras, leather upholstery, adjustable rear seats, adaptive cruise control, and more.

The upcoming Wey VV6 is driven by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 197 hp (147 kW) under its command, and a 7-speed DSG box.

Sales in China begin late in summer. The company plans to expand to the European and the US market later.
