Automaker VGV has uploaded the patent photos of a new pickup truck, called the S6. The vehicle is on par with the Great Wall King Kong Poer in terms of size.
Specifically, the patent description says it is 5,645 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,890 mm tall with 3,470 mm between the axles and 1,800 mm of cargo bed length. The body is mounted on a frame, and the rear axle has leaf springs. Despite the size, the truck can only carry 495 kilograms.
A shorter version of the truck has also been patented recently, measuring 5.4 meters cab-to-tailgate with 3.23 meters of wheelbase. This shorter version has some unusual standard features listed for it such as heavy-duty bumpers and a snorkel. This makes us think that the long-wheelbase variant will be marketed as a workhorse for commercial use, while the other one will target private buyers.
Only one engine has been patented for the VGV S6 so far, a two-liter diesel mill mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an on-demand AWD system with a coupling on the front axle. The output is specified as 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft).
