The 2018 Haval H7 (see video) is not that old yet, but the company decided to give it and its coupe-shaped sibling F7x a mild facelift in any case.
The scope of changes is rather limited. At the outside, a new radiator grille with an unusual pattern – rather than the common mesh – is the first thing you notice. Inside, there is a digital dashboard available in 7 and 12.3 inches, as well as a 12.3-inch widescreen multimedia display coming to replace the old 9-inch monitor.
To accommodate this larger screen, Haval makes a series of changes in the design of front panel frames and air blowers. As for the multimedia unit itself, the new F7 is Haval’s first vehicle on record to run on the Tencent TAI 3.0 operating system.
In its most minimalistic form, the crossover and the coupe/SUV both still ship with the old 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 169 hp (126 kW). However, the “performance option” – the 2.0-liter turbo-four – gets a boost from its former 197 hp (147 kW) to 224 hp (167 kW). The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch like before, and customers can still choose between FWD and AWD.
The 2021 Haval F7 will hit the market soon, according to the manufacturer, but specific dates and prices remain unannounced.
