China Patent Office has published a series of shots of what appears to be Haval’s newest crossover SUV based on the X Dog Concept from the last year (see video).
The car, which has not received a formal introduction yet, appears to be named KuGou, which stands for Cool Dog in English. It runs on the same unitized architecture called L.E.M.O.N. as the already available DaGou model, a.k.a. Big Dog. Compared to the Big Dog, the Cool Dog is smaller at 4,520 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,745 mm tall with 2,710 mm of wheelbase.
The exterior of the production car shown here resembles that of the prototype in everything except the handles, which are now classic (the show car had pull-out handles). No interior images exist at this time, and we expect much there to be different from the concept. For one, the display on the steering wheel hub will most likely vanish without a trace.
Elsewhere, the new CUV is specced with 18- and 19-inch wheels, a turbo engine rated at 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and strict FWD. It maxes out at 175 km/h (108.7 mph). Since these figures are only provided for one trim version, however, we may be seeing other versions later when the Cool Dog debuts.
