Haval launches the updated H6 SUV in China

After revealing the Haval H6 at Auto China last month, the company has now opened the pre-order books for the model. Those leaving a 99-CNY (14-USD) deposit will be getting a 3,000-CNY (422-USD) discount on the car along with six other bonuses, Car News China reports. That being said, the actual prices remain unannounced.

Right now, you can get a pre-facelift H6 in five configurations, three of them bundled with a 1.5T engine and the other two with a 2.0T. The facelift leaves the output of the 1.5-liter mill at its standard 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) of torque.

The 2.0T version gets a considerable power bump from 211 to 238 metric horsepower (from 208 to 235 hp; from 155 to 175 kW, respectively), while the torque goes up to 385 Nm (284 lb-ft). Both variants use DCT for the transmission, but while the 1.5T has seven speeds, the 2.0T has nine.

The H6 also has a plug-in hybrid version, the only one with all-wheel drive. It hasn’t been updated yet, but should arrive in the next few months.

On the outside, the SUV sports a trapezoid radiator grille visually linked with the headlights, fang-like DRLs, and redesigned taillights. The connecting brake light strip is gone, replaced with large “Haval” lettering that used to sit lower in the pre-facelift version.

A new steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital dashboard and a 14.6-inch head unit are the most obvious changes in the cabin. Haval lists a 9-inch HUD under options. The center tunnel now sports a multi-level design with a storage box at the bottom and cup holders and a charger pad at the top. The transmission lever has moved from the tunnel to the steering wheel column. Heated/ventilated front seats and an ADAS package of over 20 smart assists are now included in the base trim.
