Haval H9 enjoys its third facelift heading into 2022

Haval introduced the H9 SUV seven long years ago, and has updated it twice so far – in 2017 and 2019. A third nip-and-tuck comes to the market in China this summer.

Differences on the outside boil down to vertical bars in the radiator grille instead of horizontal ones and a new front bumper. The rear and the sides stay completely unchanged.

Inside, accommodating a larger touch-sensitive widescreen display necessitated changing the dashboard layout. The vertical air blowers in the middle made room for horizontal ones covered with grilles, while the audio system lost all of its hardware controls in favor of a sensor panel. The HVAC knobs were allowed to stay, though. The trim has only changed a little.

In China, the Haval H9 always ships with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo-four mill rated at 224 PS (221 hp / 165 kW) in tandem with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Diesel versions are only being produced for export markets. The AWD system stays stock with a multi-plate coupling on the front axle, a reduction gear, and front/rear diff locks (optional).

Haval never mentioned when the facelifted H9 might make it outside of its domestic market.
