Hennessey schedules Venom F5 hypercar launch for November

Hennessey Performance announced its first hypercar – the Venom F5 – as far back as 2014, followed by the first test mule three years after that. It then proceeded to alter engine volume until settling on a final design last fall, and design a carbon monocoque in January 2020. Today, the production car gets a reveal timeframe: November 2020.

The first teaser pic of the production car shows it with the engine already installed. The coupe itself weighs in under 1,360 kg (3,000 lbs) and boasts an all-carbon design. Its 6.6-liter twin-turbo engine called Fury churns out 1,842 PS (1,817 hp / 1,355 kW) at 8,000 RPM and 1,617 Nm (1,200 lb-ft) of torque at 5,500 RPM. With its manual or semi-auto gearbox and rear-wheel drive, it should be able to go faster than 500 km/h (310 mph).

Hennessey wants to beat the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ with its 300.4 mph (490.484 km/h) and possibly even the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut with its projected top speed of 532 km/h (330.6 mph).

The Hennessey Venom F5 will emerge in a strictly limited production run of just 24 copies priced at $1.8 million USD. Of these 24 cars, 12 will be sold in the United States and 12 more exported to various countries.
