After more than three years since announcement, the Hennessey Venom F5 is finally being readied for production. The Texan tuner will be making 24 hypercars capable of hitting 500 km/h (310 mph) and shipping them in 2021 once ready.
Each vehicle will come powered by a purpose-built 6.6-liter V8 fitted with dual turbochargers jointly rated at 1,817 hp (1,842 PS / 1,355 kW) and 1,617 Nm (1,200 lb-ft) of torque. Going from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) will take less than three seconds, and going 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) will be possible in mere 4.7 s. A seven-speed semi-auto transmission will drive the rear wheels.
The cabin has been reduced to the bare minimum of equipment and features an airplane control wheel with buttons for windshield wipers, headlights, blinkers and drive modes located at finger’s reach.
Hennessey will offer one upgrade kit for the F5, called the Track Pack. It will include a more aggressive front splitter and a rear wing instead of the rear spoiler.
