Hennessey Performance has posted the first teaser of a drop-top variant of the Venom F5 hypercar.
Like its coupe counterpart shown in the rest of our gallery here, the car will be powered by a V8 turbocharged to immense 1,842 PS (1,817 hp / 1,355 kW). The coupe was actively advertised by Hennessey as the world’s fastest production car capable of exceeding 500 km/h (310 mph). No official tests have been performed as of yet, though.
The original hypercar wears a carbon monocoque for cabin, which weighs as little as 89 kilos (190 pounds). Whether the roadster version will be much different or not remains to be seen. Judging by the outlines in the teaser, most of the body appears unchanged.
Powering the ultimate car is a purpose-built 6.6-liter V8 ‘Fury’ engine that allegedly enables it to zap from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in under five seconds. Hennessey plans to make only 24 coupes priced from $2,100,000, and the entire production batch is already sold out. It is not clear whether the roadster version will be included in the original 24 units or expand the production run.
The new F5 will debut online on August 9, 2022, followed by a live premiere at the Monterey Car Week in California 10 days later.
