Hennessey Performance is getting ready to unveil the topless version of its Venom F5 supercar. The Texan company missed the premiere date yesterday, but promised to have everything ready for the Monterey Car Week kicking off next Friday, August 19, 2022.
In the meantime, here are a couple of new teaser images of the car. Playing around lifting shadows reveals that the car is essentially identical to the F5 Coupe, sans the top. No different proportions, no visible design alterations elsewhere.
The manufacturer has also confirmed that both models will be the same as far as the drivetrain is concerned. This means a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 driving the rear wheels with 1,842 PS (1,817 hp / 1,355 kW). Keeping this kind of power in check can be extremely challenging even in a coupe, let alone a topless ride like this one, so we expect the carbon-fiber monocoque to sport some interesting design solutions shielding the driver from the onrush of air. That, or a mandatory helmet warning, which would kind of defeat the purpose.
