The Hispano Suiza vehicle brand is celebrating its 120th birthday this year, and will be releasing a new hypercar called the Carmen Sagrera for its fans. It will be fully revealed in June, but you can check out a 13-second teaser vid in the meantime.
The video focuses on a massive and elaborately curved rear wing made of carbon fiber with gold accents. Slightly lifted in the middle and at the ends, it passes under a hump at the rear end.
Judging by this and other visible details, the car will likely be based on the previously introduced Carmen and Carmen Boulogne models. The body kit might end up being the only distinguishing feature. By the way, the suffix “Sagrera” is a reference to the same-name district of Barcelona where Hispano Suiza founded its first manufacture back in 1907.
The company also promises to increase battery capacity from 80 to 103 kilowatt-hours, which should translate into better range. Having said that, it’s not guaranteed yet – after all, it’s an electric hypercar we are talking about. The original Hispano Suiza Carmen hit the wheels with a combined 1,020 PS (1,006 hp / 750 kW). The Boulogne version had 1,115 PS (1,100 hp / 820 kW) at its disposal. This one might get even more.
Hispano Suiza was founded in 1904 and used to be famous for its small-batch production of refined luxury vehicles, but shut down after four decades in business. Multiple investors had tried resurrecting the badge over the past few decades. The Carmen debuted at the GIMS expo in 2019.
