Hispano Suiza Carmen spawns a third special edition

The revived Hispano Suiza brand is celebrating 120 years of its legacy with yet another upmarket take on its iconic Carmen supercar: the Sagrera.

The company has overhauled pretty much the entire powertrain, replacing two electric motors mounted on the rear axle with four axial drives each entrusted with its own wheel. They slam the asphalt with a combined 1,114 PS (1,099 hp / 820 kW) and produce up to 1,160 Nm (1,144 hp / 853 kW) of torque.

To compensate for the higher power output, the battery pack has been expanded from 80 to 103 kilowatt-hours. As a result, the car gets roughly 483 km (300 miles) per charge.

On the exterior side of things, a large rear wing split in two is probably the biggest eye-catcher compared to the original. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) launch time stays the same at 2.6 seconds.

Hispano Suiza will be bringing the Carmen Sagrera to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK next month.
