This venerable Holden EH Premier harbors a 600-HP GT-R heart inside

Usually, when building restomods, tuning companies tend to settle for engine swaps that would not be too heavy on the transmission and other mechanical components. This 1964 Holden EH Premier is a remarkable exception, though.

A look under the hood reveals a straight-six Nissan RB engine that many Godzillas of the past ran on. More accurately, though, it did not belong to any Nissan GT-R model in particular, but was rather pieced together using parts from multiple generations. A single turbocharger and a handful of bespoke components raised its output to 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) – more than five times the standard value.

Elsewhere, the remarkable restomod features reinforced brakes and chassis, a new steering rack, robust new axles, and a modern transmission with differentials. A peek inside the cabin confirms that this is a track tool: there is a roll cage, a couple of bucket seats, a different steering wheel and modified gauges. If you aren’t curious, though, you may never know that it is a custom car because the exterior stays very close to stock.

The sedan is on sale in Australia right now with unspecified mileage and an asking price of 99,500 AUD (70,900 USD).
