Japanese car manufacturer Honda has taken the wraps of its all-electric city car called the e Prototype. The car is based on the Honda Urban EV Concept revealed some time ago, is still in its pre-production phase and will be present for everyone to see at the Geneva show coming up in a week.
The Honda e Prototype takes advantage of a brand-new RWD automobile platform and comes powered with a single electric motor with so far undisclosed properties. Its driving range reportedly amounts to 200 km (125 miles), and you can replenish 80 percent of the charge within 30 minutes.
Other major features of the urban car include smart LED headlights that show the remaining charge in addition to illuminating the road ahead, rear view cameras instead of the conventional mirrors, a solid all-digital dashboard made up of several separate displays, and a panoramic windshield.
Honda believes that sales of hybrids, EVs and fuel cell-based cars should increase to around 67 percent of its total vehicle sales in Europe by 2025.
