GM and Honda announced about a joint project in the field of technology of fuel cells

This night it was announced, that in 2020 the auto companies will produce hydrogen cells of co-production at a lower price. The production site will be located in the American State of Michigan at Brownstone Taunshir General Motors plant. 

For its construction GM and Honda  contributed together nearly 85 million dollars. It is noted that the project will also contribute to the creation of about 100 new workplaces.

GM and Honda have already been working together with hydrogen technologies since 2013.  The need to join forces was prompted by the desire of companies to reduce costs of production of hydrogen fuel cells, while increasing their power.

For the first time the prototype of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle was shown by the American GM carmaker in the last century, generally, the company has already been working in this direction  more than half a century. Meanwhile, General Motors can not  boast of hydrogen-powered production model in its lineup yet.The debut Honda model  with hydrogen propulsion, Clarity, was released in December last year.
