The Japanese carmaker has shared bits of information regarding an upcoming EV named Prologue, which should become available for ordering in early 2024.
The SUV will be based on a GM platform and Ultium battery, but its design will be unique. A similar model will then be released under Acura badge.
Both cars will be sold exclusively in the United States. The rest of the world will eventually get a different electric car from Honda, based on its own e:Architecture chassis and tech with no involvement of GM.
By 2030, the Japanese marque hopes to electrify 40% of the cars it sells, and double that share in the five years after that. By 2040, it should not have any ICE cars remaining in the lineup.
As of right now, the Honda e pictured on the photos and in the video here is the brand’s only battery car. It packs a single electric motor rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and has 220 kilometers (136 miles) of range.
