Honda N7X patent pics confirm the road car isn’t different from concept

Honda unveiled the N7X Concept a few months ago – check out the video if you missed it – and we may now finally learn about its production appearance and specs.

The name of the show car stood for “New 7-Seater eXcitement”. Its mass-market counterpart will first go on sale in Indonesia as a successor to the current BR-V model. Its interior remains a bit of a mystery, but as we know from the name, there will be seven seats.

The latest BR-V has been on the market for five long years now, and has received multiple facelifts. The crossover SUV features three seat rows and rides on Mobilo van powertrains. The demand has been falling steadily over the past years, with around 22,000 units sold in 2017, only 9,100 more in 2018, 6,200 in 2019, and mere 2,289 in 2020. The new generation should liven things up somewhat.

As for the powertrain, it will probably be carried over from the old BR-V unchanged. It is a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW). You can choose between manual and CVT for transmission, but the drive will stay on the front wheels.
