Honda makes a special present for sick kids

Hospitals are a scary place for children and adults alike, and Honda found it could partially alleviate the stress. Meet Shogo, an electric car capable of replacing the boring wheelchair. One is already being used in Children’s Health Orange County in California.

There is only one place in the little car, and you need to push buttons on the steering wheel to start or stop moving. The top speed is capped at 8 km/h (5 miles per hour), but parents or hospital personnel can limit it remotely.

Other than that, the Shogo carries equipment for intravenous injections and has mounting points for other medical appliances. There is even a special niche for the little patient’s toy to be kept in during the ride.
