Honda celebrates 40 years of production and 30M cars made in the USA

It has been four decades since Honda started making cars in the United States, and the total production number has already passed 30,000,000.

Bob Schywn, Senior VP of Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, congratulated his colleagues on the accomplishment saying it reflected the dedication of the people behind the brand to providing the best service to the customers.

The company initially launched its assembly lines in Marysville, USA on November 1, 1982. It currently has eight production sites nationwide employing around 17,000 people.

Overall, the Japanese automaker has invested around $20,000,000,000 into its development on the U.S. market so far. Its current lineup on that market comprises 12 Acura and Honda models, as well as various powertrains and hybrid systems.
