Honda launches the City hatchback in Thailand

The new model comes based on the City sedan, but differs from it in the tech department and starts 20,000 Baht above (from 599,000 Thai Baht).

The only engine available right now is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo rated at 122 PS (121 hp / 90 kW) and 173 Nm (128 lb-ft) of torque. A CVT sends the power to the front wheels. The sedan additionally offers a hybrid option rated at 109 PS (107 hp / 80 kW) and 253 Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque, but Honda says it will not be available for the hatchback.

Outside, the front clip looks precisely like that of the sedan, while the rear end is understandably different. The RS badge on the car shown on the promotional photos means it sports gloss-black sporty décor along with plenty of base equipment.

The inner space boasts a combination trim made up from fabric, imitation leather and Alcantara interspersed with red accents. The infotainment display measures 8 inches across. Base features include an engine start/stop system, keyless entry, air conditioning, and a multi-function steering wheel. The top trim adds LED lighting all around, climate control, an advanced multimedia system, paddle shifters, cruise control, reversing camera, and a rear spoiler.
