A 39-year-old Honda City Turbo II imported from Japan into the United States over three years ago is currently being auctioned off with the bidding at $12,000. The seller throws in a Honda Motocompo scooter for good measure.
The right-hand-drive compact car was brought to Florida in September 2018 and put up for sale in January 2019. The ride had 86,701 km (53,873 miles) on the odometer and sold for $24,250. It has only put another 2,000 km (1,240 miles) on the odo since then and is in a near-perfect condition with only slight signs of wear on the driver’s seat.
Compared to the regular Honda City, the Turbo II spec featured anti-fog lights integrated into the front bumper, an asymmetrical front grille, a bulging hood (due to an added intercooler), side air intakes and a diffuser. It had decals on the doors and the rear window and rode on turbine-shaped, 13-inch Volk Racing wheels.
Power for the City Turbo II came from a 1.2-liter, single-camshaft four-cylinder engine featuring multi-point injection and forced induction. Despite the size, the mill churns out 110 PS (108 hp / 81 kW) and 255 Nm (188 lb-ft) of torque, which a five-speed manual gearbox transmits to the wheels. The car tips the scales at around 700 kg (1,540 lbs) and needs 7.8 seconds for the standard sprint.
Interior highlights include a digital dash cluster, an air conditioner and a modern audio system with Bluetooth support.
