2023 Honda City ditches turbo diesel in India

Shortly after Honda announced preparing a facelift of its affordable City sedan for the Indian market, the model has arrived with some fresh styling, new trim levels to choose from and an extended list of equipment.

You can tell the 2023 Honda City from its earlier versions by its new radiator grille, bumpers, roof spoiler and wheels. There is a new paint option called Obsidian Blue Pearl and an added wireless charger in the cabin.

The engine lineup loses its 1.5-liter turbo diesel option for good, leaving the entry spec stranded with a petrol non-turbo mill rated at 121 PS (119 hp / 89 kW) as the only option. You can still choose between six-speed manual and CVT for the transmission. Paying extra gets you a hybrid with 126 PS (124 hp / 93 kW) at the output end.

As for the equipment and features, new additions included lanekeeping, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
