The Honda Civic is the Generation Z’s first choice, so don’t be surprised to witness the eleventh iteration of the model revealed on Twitch.tv and not some boring official website.
The sedan now looks much more imposing than before, having ditched its single-space design. The horizontal headlights make it seem wider than it is, and the cabin houses a nine-inch touch-enabled infotainment display along with – at long last – a digital dashboard. Then again, a few sketches are all we currently have regarding the interior, so things may change later on.
Nothing is being revealed about the tech, aside from the fact that the old chassis will be kept with some modifications, such as a wider wheel span.
Sales in the United States will begin next spring. A five-door hatchback variant of the Civic will emerge later, followed by the “warmed-up” Civic Si saloon and the Civic Type R hot hatch. The latter may wind up with a hybrid powertrain. As for the rather poor-selling coupe, Honda will likely drop it from the lineup for good.
