The 11th-gen Honda Civic has recently cropped up on patent shots from China, and we now know what powertrains will be available.
The car ditches its 1.0-liter turbo three-pot rated at 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW) in favor of a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder capable of 129 PS (127 hp / 95 kW). The top trim will get 182 PS (179 hp / 134 kW) out of the same displacement volume.
The U.S. spec will keep its current engine lineup. It remains to be seen whether the ratings will stay the same or not; the 2.0-liter non-turbo version has 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW) right now and the 1.5-liter turbo has between 176 and 182 PS (174-179 hp; 129-134 kW).
The European lineup will stay more or less the same, except for new part-electric versions.
It is reported that the next-gen Civic will ship with a CVT box at first, while later versions may get six-speed manual as an option. This is most likely in case of the sported-up Civic Si and the “hot” Civic Type R.
Honda debuted the concept car last fall (see video), and the international spec should finally hit the spotlight sometime later this month. The China spec may linger until April and the Auto Shanghai show.
