Back in 2017, Honda caused quite a stir when it launched the Civic Type R sports car with a rather radical body kit straight from factory. Many applauded the bold decision, while many others criticized the company for turning the car into a kitschy ‘boy-racer’.
Still, however extreme the factory aero kit may look to you, it pales in comparison to what Mugen unveiled at the last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. Well, it’s been a year, and the ludicrous RC20GT kit is ready to hit production!
According to the tuner, the engineers took their time polishing aerodynamic properties of all components, as well as improving the engine output and cooling. Apparently, Mugen calls the end result “the ultimate Type R”, and we can’t see too many people arguing with that.
The kit should hit the domestic market in Japan in a month or two. It remains unclear whether it is ever going to become available outside of the country, though.
